Our most important critics are our guests… many of whom return year after year.
There’s nothing that really compares to actually experiencing something yourself. But the next best thing has to be a recommendation from someone else.
Lovely house, garage facilities, amazing views, all in all, I wish I was not leaving!

Lovely Cottage. I've been holidaying in Cornwall at this time for over 40 years, always a lovely time to come. The weather so far has been kind and yesterday was truly amazing. The sky was so blue, even feel as though I shall return with a tan!
Caroline — stayed in Rose Cottage in March 2020
Thanks so much we loved our stay as usual. The cottage is lovely and so clean and well set up,
Caroline Morley - stayed in Venus, December 2018
Just to let you know that we enjoyed ourselves this last week at Jasmine. The visit brought back memories of the many stays we had at Shrub years ago. Next year we aim to stay 14 days as the week passed by so quickly and will be in touch shortly.
Colin Elsdon - stayed in Jasmine, October 2018
I went with my family, it was amazing, loved both the apartments, the rooms and interior are sparkly clean and has a Modern look. The only negative point I would say is the parking, it's a very steep hill to park in the car park, but apart from that a very good place to stay at.
Family Roshni - stayed in Upper & Lower Tregudda, June 2018
Wonderful house - exactly as we remembered it 20 years ago. Location still unspoilt. House clean and very well maintained.
Will look forward to returning sooner rather than later.
Gillian Moore - stayed in Upper Tregudda, May 2018
Amazing location, stunning geography and lovely little flat - highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!
Susie Chamberlain, stayed in Lower Tregudda, May 2018
Lovely, spacious, enough for 8 family members. Excellent kitchen, 2 bathrooms (loved the walk-in rain shower), decks and amazing coastal views in 3 of the 4 bedrooms, and cozy fireplace.
We so enjoyed trekking up to Port Isaac to the fish mongers to bring home the best, freshest Cornish seafood.
If we weren't coming from so far, (California, Maine and NewYork), we would always return for our family reunion!
Family Minervini, stayed in Upper Tregudda, April 2018

A lovely little cottage. Clean and comfortable. Ideal location
J Davis - stayed in Thrift, March 2018
My family have stayed in 90% of the green door cottages over last 14 years, this time courtyard cottage in October, the cottage was very clean comfortable and well equipped, this one had a wood burner which made it even more warm and cosy, the logs are free just collect some from an out door storage area, dog friendly place to visit, we are looking forward to staying at the green door cottages for the new year, well done green doors keep up with the excellent standards.
Nigel Smith, stayed in Courtyard, October 2017
We thoroughly enjoyed our accommodation at Venus Cottage in Port Gaverne. It is tastefully furnished, warm and clean and perfectly located across the road from the bay. Fabulous view. We stayed at the Upper Tregudda last year and were so impressed that we returned to enjoy all of Cornwall for another week of its spectacular rugged scenery, beautiful gardens, peacefulness, and good food.
We recommend this holiday let without reservation.
J.Wiedman - stayed in Venus, October 2017
We very much enjoyed our stay as we did ten years ago in the very same property. It was a joy to visit the coastal towns and villages ,we would like to thank you for your warm hospitality.
John Magill, stayed in Thrift, September 2017
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at this property. Spacious and equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need (and I'm quite picky about these things) we found the property absolutely spotless. The beds were comfortable with nice bedding. I could have spent days just watching the water from the bay window in the living room. Even our little dog Lily settled in immediately and loved the garden.
Proximity to Port Issac and, of course, the wonderful Port Gaverne Hotel (do not miss dinner here) were the icing on the cake.
Simply wonderful and we would love to come back if you'll have us.
Edel Roche, stayed in Upper Tregudda, September 2017
Wonderful Apartment with the most spectacular, breath taking views, property was furnished with facilities to 5* standard, nothing had been forgotten for the holidaymaker making it a Home from Home stay with comforts to ensure a memorable stay, utter perfection.
Lucy & Andrew Covell, stayed in Upper Tregudda, September 2017
Beautiful, well equipped and homely place in wonderful location. We very much enjoyed our time at Torca, it felt like a home away from home. Would recommend it to anyone and hope to be back again. 100% satisfied.
Martina Carolus, stayed in Torca, September 2017
We had a great stay at the Torca cottage at Port Gaverne, just wished it could have been longer! The location is the best so close to the small port, beach and Port Isaac with many good cafes and restaurants. A big bonus is the Port Gaverne Hotel just over the road with excellent food, and just far enough to not have any of the noise. The cottage was very very clean, which is much much appreciated. The cottage has everything you could possibly need, and we got a new high chair to use for our baby son! It is rather small though and the living room floor is not level at all, but thats surely part of the charm. We would due to the size not recommend to rent the cottage to more than two adults and two small children, or three adults.
I hope we can come back one day to this tranquil and lovely spot and cottage.
Family Kirch, stayed in Torca, July 2017
A lovely comfortable cottage. Very clean and well equipped with all you need. The welcome pack is a nice touch. We had a super relaxing holiday with our family.
Mrs Heald, stayed in Marigold, July 2017
I just wanted to say thank you for letting us have the place for the long weekend. It really is an amazing spot, we spent a fair amount of time chatting to the couple staying at Upper Tregudda & they were saying they've been coming for 20 years. I can see why.
Alex Smith, stayed in Lower Tregudda, July 2017
We stayed in upper tregudda , the apartment is truly well equipped with everything you will need to make your stay go smoothly. The views from the bay window in the lounge area are really amazing even on a rainy day you can sit back and enjoy the beautiful bay. The grass area outside the apartments are a real bonus . The decked balcony that goes across the front of the apartment is a lovely spot to sit and have breakfast or a drink at the end of the day where you can watch the beautiful sunset. We will definitely be going back next year.
Miss O'Dell, stayed in Upper Tregudda, June 2017
Beautifully appointed cottage with stunning sea views. Clean and comfortable. "Ticks all the boxes".
Mr & Mrs Hogg, stayed in Venus, June 2017
I would like to say that 'Venus' is a home-from-home for us but cannot!! It is, in fact, far more civilized and beautiful!
Somebody has designed and supplied a gorgeous, comfortable place for us with everything that we could need. We love our time there. Thank you.
Mr & Mrs Russell, stayed in Venus, June 2017
Overall the property and service was excellent.

Second year at Jasmine it never fails to impress. Tidy, spacious and beautiful property with all amenities catered for. Will definitely be returning.
Miss V Rugen, stayed in Jasmine, May 2017
We have stayed at Thrift Cottage in the past, it is very clean; comfortable and well equipped. The reconfiguration of the furniture in the main room makes it a little more spacious.
Mrs Phipps, stayed in Thrift, May 2017
We have stayed at Rose Cottage a number of times. It is very comfortable, well equipped and, we think, the most dog friendly of all the Green Door cottages. Parking just metres away from the front door is a great bonus. Rose's location in Port Gaverne is fabulous - the beach is two minutes' walk, as is the excellent Port Gaverne Hotel.
Mr Smith, stayed in Rose, April 2017
A very comfortable and clean well appointed cottage.
All instructions easy to follow!
The shower could do with a power boost!
Having the Pub close by was a bonus.
Mrs Grist, stayed in Rose, March 2017
We have visited Green Door Cottages for nearly forty years and Marigold is our favourite with many happy memories.
It is a very comfortable and friendly cottage...
Lovely to come back to after a day out with an excellent pub across the way.
Sue Beck, stayed in Marigold, March 2017
WE HAVE BEEN STAYING ONCE OR TWICE A YEAR IN PORT GAVERNE FOR SOME 30 YEARS NOW, MOSTLY IN VENUS. THE APARTMENT IS BEAUTIFULLY EQUIPPED AND FURNISHED, IN A STUNNING POSITION OVER THE BEACH, BUT WITHIN A 15 SECOND WALK OF THE EXCELLENT PUB NEXT DOOR, WHICH PROVIDES VERY GOOD FOOD, A ROARING FIRE AND A WELCOME FOR DOGS. WE THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COTTAGE.
Mr & Mrs Speller, stayed in Venus, March 2017

EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT
Mr Eastmond, stayed in Rashleigh, New Year 2016
Fab stay. Lovely property. Superb location. INCREDIBLE showers! Thank you. The only thing I would change (and this is only in case it helps as we certainly have no complaints) are that I think the steepness of the drive might be a problem for some less confident drivers..We would definitely come back - it is a great layout for a group of friends and the views are just wonderful. Thank you.
Mrs Marley, stayed in Upper Tregudda, New Year 2016
The property was lovely and contained more facilities than we expected (washer/dryer, dishwasher and tablet provided).
The only teeny issue was that we could not find the end of the hoover so we did struggle to clean as fully as we would have liked especially since we have 2 dogs in the property - we did pick up as much as we could and hope it was left to your satisfaction.
Would not hesitate to recommend or visit again
Mrs Riley, stayed in Rose, New Year 2016
We were all very impressed with the layout of the cottage, the cleanliness and with all the little things that you would need when self catering. Great thought has been put into this and we wanted for nothing ! Loved being able to have a log fire burning on Christmas day, although the cottage was warm and cosy enough with the efficient central heating.
And to top it all, a beautiful christmas cake and bottle of Prosecco waiting for us on our arrival ! I couldn't fault it, would definitely book again.
Penny Healey, stayed in Marigold, Christmas 2016
Beautiful location and very pleased with the improvements that have been made since we were there 6yrs ago. Central heating is good and lovely log burner. Beds are very comfy and the balcony and outside areas are exceptional - excellent view of the the cove. Will return again.
Suzanne Browning, stayed in Upper Tregudda, Christmas 2016
My wife and I stayed for a long weekend in December so we were very pleased that the cottage was warm. The cottage was nicely furnished with very comfortable beds. We were especially impressed by how well equipped the kitchen was. The reason we chose this cottage, of course, was the proximity of the Port Gaverne hotel next door with its cosy bar - perfect for a pint and the daily newspaper - and its fabulous restaurant.
All in all we were delighted with the whole experience and would recommend this property highly.
Edmund McManus, stayed in Jasmine, December 2016
Lovely position and excellent cottage. Very clean and tidy on arrival.
Mr Huddy, stayed in Torca, December 2016
A really lovely place to stay, wonderful views and direct access to the coastal footpaths. Access drive not for the faint hearted!!! Good local pub.
Mrs Wallace, stayed in Upper Tregudda, December 2016
Just a note to let you know that our family and friends weekend away in Port Gaverne was amazing. Everyone had a marvellous time and thought the cottages, and Tregudda, were something very special. I'm sure we will be looking to return again and again in the future.

"Marigold Cottage was a comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage. It matched its description and did not disappoint us. The 'Nest' heating control was perfect for a November's stay, as we felt in control of our heating at all times.
MRS WORMALD, STAYED IN MARIGOLD, NOV 2016
The property is absolutely wonderful. We really loved everything about it, and would love to return sometime. The upstairs balcony in particular is just fabulous, with the stunning views. Everything was very comfortable, clean, perfect.
Dilys Thorp, stayed in Venus, Oct 2016

The Watts family, stayed in Marigold, August 2016
“Absolutely brilliant place. Although we know the area quite well this was our first stay in port gaverne. Nice and quiet even though the pub was so close. Car parking a bit tight but manageable. Jasmine was a really nice place to stay. "
Mr Leyland, stayed in Jasmine, August 2016
“Fantastic cottage – probably the best I’ve ever stayed in. Well equiped and clean. Excellent location”.
stayed in Venus, June 2016
“We just wanted to send an email thanking you for a wonderful stay in your lovely cottages once again. We have lost count of the number of times we have been to the cottages, it’s been twice a year for the last eight years we think."
The Mace family, stayed in Rashleigh, May 2016
"The mark of good service is how you respond to a problem. When we arrived we could not operate the wall safe containing the keys, after a few failed attempts we decided to phone for help as directed. Mick and Pip arrived in less than a minute and Pip got spare keys to let us in while Mick opened the safe which had been causing some issues."
